Japanese and Vintage Beads Beetle Collar Necklace
Part of the collection called Symmetries, this one-of-a-kind collar is hand-woven on a vertical symmetry and is inspired by the beetle, an iconic decorative element of Egyptian jewelry design. The technique used for weaving this contemporary necklace is called CRAW, cubic right angle weave, and is extremely time-consuming. The beaded mesh obtained with this technique is very sturdy and also flexible, which makes it comfortably light and easy-to-wear.
Materials used include the finest Japanese glass beads size 11 and four re-purposed 16mm lucite spheres. Although the fishing thread used in this kind of beaded work is extremely resistant, this kind of artwork requires special care.
This is a one-of-a-kind piece and can not be reproduced.
